As a pastor, I am not a member of the congregation I serve. And to be honest, Sunday mornings usually weigh me down rather than lift me up! Therefore, I relish Presbytery worship services. This is my church. And it’s a joy to worship and not be in charge! At next week’s meeting, Rev. Kurt Helmcke will preach and the Calvin folks will lead us into the presence of God! I’m looking forward to being renewed and refreshed!
Our morning workshops for the May 21st meeting are worthy of serious consideration. The NPSP will discuss Jack Rodgers book, Homosexuality and Bible. Bob and Gracie Ekblad (and others from Tierra Nueva) will lead a workshop on “Methamphetamines and the Gospel of Jesus Christ”, and several NPSP Council members will convene a panel discussion entitled “Discovery’s Black Box…from Heartbreak to Healing.”
The business portion of the meeting will include welcoming two new ministers to presbytery, Rev. Bruce Becker and Rev. Mike Neelley. There are several important documents in this meeting’s packet that reflect hours and hours of faithful work on the part of presbytery staff and volunteers. Please take some time and familiarize yourself with the exciting new opportunities that lie ahead for NPS Presbytery!
